Can shoe inserts or insoles help to improve the durability of a pair of kids' shoes?

Asked a year ago

Hi, as a parent, I'm always on the lookout for ways to save money and make my kids' shoes last longer. I've heard mixed opinions about shoe inserts or insoles and their ability to improve durability. Do they really work or is it just a waste of money? Advice would be appreciated.

Adding insoles to a child's shoe may provide some additional cushioning and support, but it is unlikely to increase the shoe's durability considerably. While insoles may assist absorb some of the shock and impact from walking or running, they are not intended to enhance or reinforce the shoe's construction.
